This second exhibition curated by Mónica Enríquez-Enríquez is part of the 10th Annual Queer Latino Arts Festival. It explores multiple identities through the eyes of Latinos and South Asians using mixed media, installations, and photography.

Written, choreographed and directed by David Alonzo Jones, this musical tells the story of the journey into post-revolutionary Cuba. Expect Che Guevara references, and a LOT of salsa. Azúcar!

The sculptures and paintings from these three different artists work well together as a group exhibit because they all explore the "space" between the dark and the beautiful. New York resident Ernesto Burgos's manipulation of materials is art in itself as he questions what the elements can and cannot do.

He's happy to reunite with his family but the reality of a decadent economy soon sets in.t. Alejandro is a 12-year-old orphan working at a junkyard who struggles amidst severe poverty with his older sister Isamar.

As part of their "Hecho por Mexico: The Films of Gabriel Figueroa" series, Pacific Film Archive presents this classic, winner of the Best Cinematography Golden Globe award in 1947. Based on the novel by the same name by John Steinbeck, the plot unfolds after Kino and Juana's little boy Coyotito is stung by a scorpion. When Kino finds a beautiful (and expensive!) pearl in the sea, his life changes after his town gets taken over by greed.
Thru Sep 28 The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo SFMOMA
In conjunction with the massive exhibition celebrating Frida Kahlo, SFMOMA is featuring daily screenings of this documentary, narrated by Rita Moreno. We get at glimpse at early 20th century Mexican history and its effect on Frida's artwork. Singer-songwriter Lila Downs also makes an appearance reading from Frida's journal.
